Digital transceiver covers a wide range

A Plextek product story

Software defined radio platform will be useful in both civil and defence applications, providing reduced time to market and the ability to customise its capabilities

Plextek has developed a novel broadband digital transceiver platform covering a wide frequency range and incorporating a powerful and customisable baseband processor section.

Key specifications include a frequency range of 400MHz to 4GHz (including fine frequency and gain adjustment of instrumentation quality), 20MHz bandwidth, high linearity with excellent EVM (error vector magnitude), including substantial baseband signal processing capability implemented in multiple dual-core processors and FPGAs.

This software defined radio (SDR) platform will be useful in both civil and defence applications, providing reduced time to market and the ability to customise its capabilities depending on the user's requirements.

The platform is capable of rapid reconfiguration and is able to support all modern comms standards including WLAN, GSM, 3G, LTE, Wi-Fi, satcomms, Tetra and digital or video audio broadcast.

Typical defence applications include high spectral purity broadband waveform synthesis, adaptive jamming, advanced ECM and ESM and complex broadband channel simulation.

The platform is ideally suited for system development and customisation either by Plextek or directly by users themselves.
