Photometer extends to brighter tasks
A CCD-based photometer claims a new value and performance benchmark for LED, display and illumination metrology.
New from Pro-Lite Technology, the ProMetric PM-1400E Series imaging photometer colourimeter from Radiant Imaging a CCD-based photometer which establishes a new value and performance benchmark for LED, display and illumination metrology.
The PM-1400E is the third-generation CCD imaging photometer from Radiant Imaging and features an improved optomechanical design that leads to faster measurement times, simpler operation, more robust construction, greater application flexibility and overall improved value.
Of note is the new shutter design (patent pending) which allows for exposure times as short as 50ms, and the inclusion of a built-in motorised filter wheel holding neutral density filters which extends by two orders of magnitude the range of brightness levels which the photometer can measure.
Radiant Imaging's confidence in the improved design and reliability of the PM-1400E series is reflected in its standard two-year hardware warranty.
All these enhancements are offered at no additional charge, reflecting the enhanced value that the E-series camera delivers.
The ProMetric PM-1400E delivers true 14bit (16,000 grey scale) dynamic range measurements of luminance, intensity, illuminance and chromaticity, and uses ProMetric 8.5 software to provide sophisticated image analysis.
This makes the PM-1400E an ideal tool for both laboratory and production line testing of the brightness and colour uniformity of LEDs, LCDs, PDPs, OLEDs, instrument panels, projection systems and display backlight components.
The ProMetric PM-1400E consists of a full frame CCD with high speed mechanical shutter.
CCD resolutions available range from 512 x 512 pixel up to a massive 25Mpixel sensor which delivers the highest resolution available over an extended camera field of view.
Lens options take in telephoto, fixed focal length and wide angle options as well as microscope objectives for detailed display analysis.
The camera connects to a PC via a high speed USB 2.0 interface which supports operation from a laptop computer.
The bundled ProMetric 8.5 software provides camera control, data acquisition and image analysis capabilities.
