Pulse has three new PulseJack connector sockets with integrated magnetics which extend the family's data handling capability into the gigabit (1000Base-TX) range.

Pulse has three new PulseJack connector sockets with integrated magnetics which extend the family's data handling capability into the gigabit (1000Base-TX) range The new Gigabit PulseJack family allows customers to select a single supplier for all their gigabit filtered magnetics needs, from the simple JK series for NIC (network interface cards) applications to the more complex multiport JG series and JC series for server and router applications

The new range complements Pulse's existing range of 10/100Base-TX PulseJack components and applications for the range include switches, routers, network hubs, and high-end small office/home office (SOHO) servers.

Increasing the datarate from 100 to 1000Mbit/s doubles the quantity of magnetic components required to produce a working gigabit network solution.

By combining the magnetics (transformers and chokes) inside the modular PulseJack connector, Pulse is able to offer improved electrical performance with fewer external components, requiring less board space than traditional design options using separate components.

The PulseJack family's gigabit range extends from the single-port JK series to multiport JG series (1 by N where 1 times N are the number of ports) and JC series (2 by N) for server and router applications.

All are offered with or without LED options.

Shields are available with or without EMI tabs.

All PulseJack connectors are thoroughly tested to deliver a minimum of 1500V RMS hi-pot isolation and meet or exceed IEEE802.3 and ANSI X3.263 standards.

The custom configured connectors, available with locking tab up or down, incorporate 10/100/1000Base-TX magnetics within a shielded, high-durability RJ-45 connector module.

The Gigabit PulseJack platform series is designed to be through hole (THT) mounted in pick-and-place manufacturing processes to withstand the solder reflow process.

Each platform (JK, JG and JC series) is available in a variety of internal filter magnetic designs to optimise the performance of the connector for various chipsets commonly found in 10/100/1000Base-TX high-speed networks.

PulseJack THT connectors with integrated magnetics are available in trays.

Lead time is four to six weeks.

Price is $3.21 per port for the single port JK series, $3.07 per port for the multiport 1 x N (JG series) and $2.85 per port for the multiport 2 x N (JC series), all in quantities of 10,000.
