A new series of surface-mount current sense transformers for DC/DC convertor applications offers a low-profile of 3.3mm and a footprint of only 8.38 x 8.38mm.

A new series of surface-mount current sense transformers for DC/DC convertor applications from Pulse offers a low-profile of 3.3mm and a footprint of only 8.38 x 8.38mm.

The PA0368 series, which suits pick-and-place assembly, is ideal for current sensing feedback control loops in DC/DC power supply circuitry.

The unit provides a closed magnetic field due to its toroidal construction, ensuring low electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Product applications include designs of isolated high-power DC/DC brick or discrete power supplies, distributed power systems in telecom and datacomms networks, industrial control systems, automotive and heavy equipment systems.

The PA0368 series has available turns ratios of 1:50, 70, 80, 100 or 125, and provides a primary direct current rating (DCR) of 4mohm.

The product is designed for stable performance with minimum drift across an extended operating temperature range of -40 to +130C.

The inductors provide an operating frequency range of 50 to 500 kHz.

The series is available in trays and tape-and-reel packaging on a lead time of four to six weeks.

Detailed technical specifications are available on data sheet P557 which is available on the Pulse website.
