"Serial interconnect standards part 1: I/O interconnect for communications" (Tuesday 30th September, 1330-1500) addresses three major interconnect technologies - PCI Express, PCI-X, and RapidIO - and their features and benefits, emphasising their applicability in mainstream datacommunications and telecommunications systems.

"Serial interconnect standards part 2: I/O implementation of communications systems" (Tuesday 30th September, 1545-1715) will address how interconnect technology will be deployed in communications systems, including AdvancedTCA (ATCA) and CompactTCA.

Session panellists are Jim Kennedy, staff member, Network Processing Group Technology Office, Intel; Jean-Marc Patenaude, Director of Marketing, Logic Interface Division, Rambus; and Mark Overgaard, President, Pigeon Point Systems.
