Already, PMC-Sierra has implemented HyperTransport technology in its RM9000x2 gigahertz multiprocessor.
The RM9000x2 uses the high-speed I/O connectivity of the 500MHz HyperTransport bus interface to provide the processing needs of key applications such as core routers, edge routers, remote access products and enterprise servers.
"We are looking forward to working closely with all consortium member companies to help promote the deployment of HyperTransport, a new standard that meets the performance demands of the networking communications industries", stated Tom Riordan, vice president and general manager of the MIPS Processor Division at PMC-Sierra.
"PMC-Sierra has multiple products using HyperTransport, including our recently announced RM9000x2 gigahertz multiprocessor".
