Connector ruggedised for industrial networks
The Variosub-RJ45/IP67 connector is a reliable and cost-effective method of connecting network services to equipment which is required to operate in demanding environments.
In addition, they are specifically designed for use with through-hole reflow (pin-in-paste) soldering techniques, which eliminate the need for a costly separate wave soldering step in the board manufacturing process.
Tape-on-reel Combicon THR headers can be supplied with up to 12 poles in 3.5/3.81mm pitch versions rated at 8A, and with up to eight poles in 5.0/5.08mm pitch versions rated at 12A.
With correctly designed printed circuit boards, the 3.5/3.81mm headers are suitable for operation at voltages of up to 160V, whereas the 5.0/5.8mm versions can be used at up to 250V.
Phoenix Contact can supply Combicon THR headers on reels with either vertical or horizontal orientation, making them easy to use with boards of all types.
As an additional aid to ease of use, all male headers incorporate a removable pick-and-place pad which ensures reliable handling with vacuum pick-up devices.
To protect the headers prior to assembly, the mounting tapes incorporate a transparent foil sealing layer, and to guard against possible damage to static-sensitive devices which may be used alongside the headers, all the packaging has been formulated to be ESD proof.
For reworking, and other applications where fully automated printed circuit board assembly is not used, Phoenix Contact is continuing to offer Combicon THR connectors in standard waffle-tray packaging, thereby ensuring that the Combicon THR range always includes the best packaging format to meet the user's needs.
