Combicon feedthrough headers provide a simple, efficient and cost-effective solution to the common problem of providing plug-in connections which pass through enclosure walls.

Combicon feedthrough headers provide a simple, efficient and cost-effective solution to the common problem of providing plug-in connections which pass through enclosure walls The headers are available with up to 16 poles for types with current ratings of 12A or less, and with up to 12 poles in the 20A high-power versions

For low-current applications, Phoenix Contact offers Mini Combicon headers which, with a pitch of just 3.81mm, provide high connection density.

Rated at 8A per pole continuous, these products feature solder/push-on tags for connections on the header, and screw-terminal connections, suitable for cables up to 1.5mm2, on the mating plug.

When mated, the plugs may be secured in place with screw fittings, providing a high degree of vibration-resistance.

For applications involving wire-to-wire through-panel connections at higher currents, Combicon DFK-MSTB headers, with a choice of 5mm or 5.08mm pitch, are available.

These products are rated at 12A, and the mating plugs accept flexible cables up to 2.5mm2.

Also available in 5.08mm pitch, and compatible with the same plug types as the DFK-MSTB products, are DFK-MSTBA headers, which are intended for use in applications where a printed circuit board is mounted directly on the back of the header, without the use of an intervening cable.

These products, when correctly fitted, have an IP60 ingress protection rating, and are available in versions to suit vertically and horizontally mounted PCBs.

For high-current applications, Power Combicon type DFK-PC4 headers, rated at 20A, offer an ideal solution.

With individually sleeved connector pins, these products can be used at up to 400V.

As standard, they feature screw-terminal connections, capable of accepting cables up to 4mm2, on both the header and the plug, but headers with solder lugs can be supplied to order.

To complement its extensive range of feed-through headers, Phoenix Contact offers a comprehensive selection of accessories.

These include marking systems and, for most products, coding devices which ensure that only the correct plug can be inserted into the header.
