Delta SM Series switched-mode DC power supplies from Powerline offer output ratings up to 3kW, and are suited to benchtop use or rack mounting in laboratory or industrial applications.

Delta SM Series switched-mode DC power supplies, now available from Powerline, offer output ratings up to 3kW, and are equally suited to benchtop use or rack mounting in laboratory or industrial process-control applications.

The new lightweight (around 10kg) units will accept a wide input voltage range (90-265V AC at 50-60Hz or 125-380V DC), and are available with a variety of voltage and current ratings from 15 to 300V and 2 to 200A, respectively.

Versions are available with maximum power outputs of 600/700 W, 1.5 kW and 3 kW.

The power supplies use a 100kHz power-conversion technique, and combine high efficiency (up to 91%), stability (0.01% maximum) and accuracy (0.03% resolution using 10-turn potentiometers).

Front-panel digital displays give a clear indication of voltage and current.

Isolated analogue programming is available via an optional isolated amplifier card, while digital programming is available through optional RS232 or IEEE-488 interfaces.

Programming inputs and monitoring outputs have a very low offset.

The units meet relevant European specifications on EMC and noise immunity, and will withstand the high-energy input pulse test of VDE-0160-2.

They are designed for long life at full power without derating, and are protected against all overload and short-circuit conditions.
