Now available from Powerline is the Lambda X-Series of compact, low-profile DC/DC convertors, offering ratings of 10, 15 or 20W from a package measuring only 2 x 1 x 0.4in (50.8 x 25.4 x 10.6mm).

The new units are manufactured at Lambda's UK production facility, so that production quantities can be supplied on very short lead times.

Versions are available for input voltages of 18-36V (nominal 24V) or 35-75V (nominal 48V) DC, with outputs from 1.8 to 12V DC.

Maximum reflected ripple current is 5mA peak-to-peak, and ripple rejection is 45dB.

Overcurrent and overvoltage protection are incorporated, and mean time between failures is in excess of five million hours.

Efficiency is up to 84%, depending on the model, and operating temperature range is between -40 and +105C.

Worldwide safety approvals include CE, UL, C-UL and VDE, and the convertors meet FCC Regulation EN55022.

Class B, for electromagnetic interference.

The units are offered with a 2-year guarantee.

The X-Series is ideally suited to use in telecomms, wireless and datacomms applications, including W-CDMA network configurations, 3G basestations and public/private network routers.
