Backup system slips into EPOS systems
Powervar has launched its smallest all-in-one sinewave power conditioner and backup power supply.
DSP-powered UPS keeps loads running
The DS Series of feature-rich true online double-conversion UPS units features DSP control for instant sampling to create continuous power for the load.
Under normal operating status the conditioning functions clean the incoming commercial power supply to maintain the integrity and reliability of the electronics system.
Whenever there is an interruption to the commercial power supply the UPM uses its internal battery and microprocessor controlled digital inverter to produce a low distortion sinusoidal waveform for the protected load.
Even when operating from the battery, Security One provides clean, conditioned power by way of its power conditioning circuitry.
The new generation UPM system offers an attractive array of features including full front panel operating indicators, load shedding, self-diagnostics, comprehensive software compatibility and hot-swap batteries.
Total manageability is the key to the versatility of the new Security One UPM.
The design incorporates four separate management subsystems to allow users to exercise complete control over every aspect of the system operation.
Whether using mains power or the battery back up, only high quality, noise-free power reaches the protected load, with an isolation transformer to guarantee that neutral to ground voltage disturbances cannot cause disruption.
Built-in communications capability can readily interface with the basic UPS monitoring programmes of many operating systems.
When equipped with Powervar's proprietary software management suite, the UPM provides a complete range of tools to control functions including unattended shutdown, load shedding, automatic power up/power down, scheduled testing, data and event logging.
Powervar Security One UPM units are offered in five ratings - 350, 500, 800, 1100 and 1400VA.
In addition to its standard models, the company also offers UPM with Ground Guard technology, which can eliminate the need for dedicated/isolated electrical circuits.
The UPM units are supplied in an attractive blue/beige livery, although models up to 800VA are also available in charcoal grey - the retail industry's preferred option for EPOS applications.
