Upgraded uninterruptible power manager
Following the successful launch of its Security One uninterruptible power manager (UPM) last year, Powervar has introduced new, feature-rich, second-generation models.
Backup system slips into EPOS systems
Powervar has launched its smallest all-in-one sinewave power conditioner and backup power supply.
By cleaning and conditioning the incoming mains power to electronic equipment, it safeguards system integrity and protects components against degradation resulting from spikes and noise, to lengthen their operational life.
In the event of mains power being lost, the internal battery and microprocessor controlled digital inverter produces a low distortion sinusoidal waveform for the protected load.
Even when operating from batteries, Powervar UPMs provide 'clean' power through advanced power conditioning circuitry.
Following successful trials, in which UPMs proved to offer them greater reliability than standard uninterruptible power supply systems, three major Spar chains have adopted the technology.
Capper and Co is employing 240VA rated UPM units for the tills and 500VA rated UPM units for back office systems in all its one hundred company-owned Spar outlets in southern England and South Wales.
Tates - a wholly owned subsidiary of A.F.
Blakemore and Son - is rolling out the same 240VA and 500VA UPM hardware for its one hundred and ninety three company-owned Spar outlets in Central England and Wales.
In Northern Ireland, where its Spar outlets are predominantly petrol stations, John Henderson NI is installing 350VA, 500VA and 800VA UPM units to protect the EPOS tills and the forecourt pump controllers.
Powervar UPMs are available in ratings from 240VA up to 1440VA and in formats for 50 or 60-hertz power environments.
All carry Powervar's five-year electronics and two-year battery guarantees.
