The PTN 250 has been introduced as option for new and existing users of Heinzinger's precision power supplies in automated system applications.
This new programmable control unit makes it possible to store and automatically operate power supply functions, via an integrated processor, in up to 32 different and freely assignable programs with up to 16 steps each.
Programming is accomplished using a keyboard on the front of the unit or via the integrated RS232/IEEE interface with SCPI command set.

Values for voltage, current, timing and many additional functions can be easily programmed on an ergonomic keyboard and combined as individual program steps or full programs.
Following the start of a program, fully automatic processes with up to 511 program steps are executed.
The user can thus represent and run automated test procedures in a logical sequence without any programming knowledge.
The multiple-line front panel display not only shows the respective program steps, it also serves as a highly precise display of the actual values for voltage and current output.
Transition to the respective next step can be time-triggered as well as control type dependent (voltage or current control).
This flexibility ensures the control unit is suitable for highly diverse applications.
The PTN 250 intelligent controller can be used with nearly all existing Heinzinger power supplies and all new products.
The control unit is suitable for high voltage units, available for voltages from 600V to 300kV, as well as for units in the low voltage range with currents from 1A to 10kA.
In each case, the initial values are freely programmable between zero and the nominal value of the power supply.
A broad window is also available for time input.
Depending on the function range of the power supplies, special functions and user specific control tasks can also be realised via the new control unit.
Several freely assignable digital channels are available for this purpose.
Andy Moore, Sales Manager of PowerSupplyShop comments: "Heinzinger power supplies are widely used in manufacturing process, test and laboratory applications".
"This new programmable controller will greatly simplify assembly and control or complex systems".
