PCI bridge chips gain asynchronous mode support
Pericom Semiconductor has expanded its PCI-to-PCI bridge portfolio with six new enhanced devices that support multiple end markets including networking, computer, industrial and video surveillance.
Pericom's 8bit, 3.3 to 5V level shifter family consists of four devices: PI74LVC3245A, PI74LVC 4245A, PI74LVCC3245A and PI74LVCC4245A.
These bidirectional transceivers have dual power supplies and can translate signal voltage levels from 3V LVTTL/LVCMOS to 5V CMOS, and vice versa, in a mixed-voltage environment.
"Engineers are constantly challenged with finding solutions to manage multiple-voltage supplies and multiple signal levels.
Today's evolving lower power technologies merging with existing designs is inherent to the modern designer's projects", said Michael Yang, Product Marketing Engineer.
"Pericom's broad translator portfolio includes a comprehensive selection of voltage translation devices, as well as I/O signal translation devices to meet these rapidly growing requirements", Yang continued.
Key benefits and features include: separate supply voltages on each side of the device; balanced output drive of +/-24mA; high-speed performance with typical propagation delay of about 3ns from one port to the other; rail-to-rail output swing for increased noise margin; and high-impedance output disable.
Free samples, datasheets, Ibis models, literature and application notes are available today from the company website.
The devices are housed in standard 24-pin TSSOP, QSOP and SOIC packaging.
Pricing for all devices is $0.50 in 10,000-unit quantities.
