Wide-ranging AC/DC power supplies are ideally suited for those applications where space is at a premium.

Powersolve has made significant additions to its wide-ranging AC/DC power supply offering with the launch of a series of ultracompact units ideally suited for those applications where space is at a premium.

According to Powersolve Managing Director, Peter Clark, the new supplies "have a very small footprint for the level of power available".

The JB250 Series are 1U high, 250W units featuring a power density of 10.4W/in3 and are available in open U-channel format or enclosed with an optional fan cover.

All models in the JB250 Series feature an auto-selectable AC input ranging from 90 to 264V and are available as either single output units, with fixed voltages from 2-60V DC or with dual output combinations based on 3.3, 5, 12, 24 and 48V.

Up to 600W peak power is possible within a 500us duty duration.

Operating temperature range is 0 to 70C with derating from 50C.

Features include protection against overvoltage, overtemperature and short circuit.

Remote on/off is standard as is a 12V DC, 300mA output to drive an external cooling fan.

Dimensions for the open model are 1.5 x 3.2 x 5in.

The fan cover adds just 0.5in to the height.

The units comply with EN61000-3-2 for harmonic distortion and are fully approved to UL, CUL, TUV, CSA and CE standards.

EMC meets EN55022 B for conducted emissions.
