Switchers put 320W into restricted spaces

A Powersolve product story

Ultracompact AC/DC power supplies are available in four different mechanical formats with single- and dual-output units capable of providing up to 320W.

Available now from Powersolve, the JB300/320 series of ultracompact AC/DC power supplies offers single- and dual-output units capable of providing up to 320W.

Power factor correction to EN610000-3-2 class A is standard across the range, and all models meet all relevant international safety approval standards.

Key to the versatility of the JB300/320 series is the fact that Powersolve offers these power supplies in four different mechanical formats, making them suitable for a wide range of applications where space is restricted.

The four options are: an open U-channel unit that provides up to 320W with forced air or up to 180W convection cooled; a U-channel unit with top cover giving a maximum of 170W convection cooled; an enclosed unit with built-in end fan giving up to 320W; and an enclosed unit with built-in top fan giving the same 320W maximum.

Maximum power density for these units is high at 8.9W/in3.

All models in the JB300/320 series feature an auto-selectable AC input ranging from 90 to 264V and are available as either single output units, with fixed voltages from 2 to 60V DC or with dual output combinations based on 5, 12, 24 and 48V.

Up to 700W peak power is possible within a 500us duty duration.

Operating temperature range is 0 to 70C with derating from 50C.

Features include power-good and fan-fail signals, LED indicator, protection against overvoltage, overtemperature and short circuit, and a 12V/400mA DC output to drive an external cooling fan is incorporated as standard in the U-channel units.
