Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team May 17, 2007

Desktop power adapters meet efficiency and no-load power consumption standards due for implementation in 2008.

Power Sources Unlimited has released a product line of desktop power adapters in compliance with California Energy Commission Tier 2 criteria and Energy Star Level IV standards for external switching power supplies.

These two standards are the more stringent efficiency and no-load power consumption requirements which are due to go into effect on 1st July 2008.

Well suited for applications in communications, instrumentation, and computer peripherals, these new desktop power supplies have output power ratings of 20, 30, 40 or 63W, with fully regulated single outputs ranging from 5 to 50V DC.

All models feature an 85-264V AC input, high efficiency and comprehensive protection circuitry.

Operating temperature ranges are as wide as 0 to 70C, with derating.

All products are RoHS compliant, have worldwide safety certification to EN60950-1 standards, EMI performance to Class B standards, and are backed by a two year warranty.

Additional products with higher power ratings are in development and will augment the offering in the coming months.

Units are competitively priced at only US $13.00 in OEM quantities of a 20W model, with quick turn delivery.
