Photonic Products can now design and manufacture high-quality custom single- and multimode optical fibre assemblies, from 400 to 1600nm wavelength with core sizes from 4um to 1mm The company specialises in large-core fibre (greater than 200um), in plastic polymer fibre or silica fibre

A typical application for these fibre assemblies is DNA sequencing, for which a custom package has been designed and manufactured using 800um hard clad silica (HCS) fibre and two single ferrules to a double-ended ferrule, 300mm long.

The fibre assemblies are also used in free space optical communications and other medical applications.

The fibre assemblies can be terminated with virtually any connector type, including SC, SC APC, FC, FC APC, ST, MU, LC, FDDI, D4 and SMA connectors and built to the customer's required length with UPC or APC finishes or armoured jackets.

Jumpers and pigtails can be built using 2mm, 3mm or 900um fibre.

High-volume capabilities are provided for OEM users.

All fibre assemblies are tested and guaranteed and all connections are of very high quality.

All have low back reflection and low insertion loss, excellent consistency and concentricity.

Boots and fibre can be colour coded for various functions and the company can customise multifibre pigtails and jumpers to a customer's specifications. Request a free brochure from Photonic Products ...
