Sanyo Semiconductor Europe was established over 20 years ago; with headquarters in Schwalbach am Taunus in Germany and regional sales offices in London, Paris and Copenhagen.

Sanyo currently markets AlGaAs, AlGaInP and GaN infra-red, red and blue-violet laser diode products in the 405 to 980nm wavelength ranges.

It has recently launched the world's first GaN blue-violet laser diode with a low-noise beam structure produced using ion implantation, which offers lower noise, and current consumption and achieves a higher performance compared with conventional blue-violet laser diodes.
