In response to increased demand for hands-on and technical training on Profibus, The Profibus Group has announced plans for a number of workshops to be held in the UK over the coming year.
In response to increased demand for hands-on and technical training on Profibus, The Profibus Group has announced plans for a number of workshops to be held in the UK over the coming year An implementation workshop, presented by Manfred Popp, author of "The rapid way to Profibus DP" will be held on Thursday 3rd May at the Profibus Competence Centre (in foundation) at University of Wales College Newport, Gwent

IO Link Gains Momentum
Profibus International (PI) together with 14 manufacturers in the "IO Link" working group is developing the specification for a fieldbus-independent communication interface in factory automation.
Two events will take place on consecutive days at Manchester Metropolitan University's Profibus Competence Centre.
An IEC 1131-3 programming workshop will be held on Tuesday 19th June and a Profibus user workshop on Wednesday 20th June.
These "hands on" workshops feature the use of the Profibus Wall, a modular multivendor demonstration system now permanently located at the University.
A Profibus PA workshop featuring a portable, working multivendor demonstration system is scheduled to take place in the midlands on 15th November.
The Group is also planning to hold a series of half and full day seminars covering newer aspects of Profibus including Profidrive/Profimotion, Profinet and Profisafe.
