ProtoDel, one of the world's leading suppliers of all-fibre optical components to the telecomms industry, has opened a US headquarters in 'Telecom Corridor', Richardson, Texas.

As part of its major expansion plans ProtoDel, one of the world's leading suppliers of all-fibre optical components to the telecommunications industry, has opened a US headquarters in 'Telecom Corridor', Richardson, Texas.

Strategically based in an area recognised as one of the key centres in the US for the telecommunications industry, ProtoDel Inc is ideally placed to supply optical components to major local companies as well as to customers throughout the US and Canada.

A strong team of sales and administrative staff will operate out of the Richardson HQ.

Dr Ian Giles, President of ProtoDel said that this was the first of a series of US offices, which the company planned to open over the coming months on both the East and West coasts.

"ProtoDel's success in pioneering all-fibre technology and transferring it to a simplified manufacturing process has led to a tremendous worldwide growth in demand for our products, especially in the USA.

By fabricating components using a continuous fibre, we are able to provide the optimum performance from a wide portfolio of devices and to offer superior products that overcome problems such as poor signal quality due to mismatching interfaces - the result of bonding fibre to other optical elements".
