Precidia Technologies has been named in M2M Magazine's M2M 100 list of the most important and influential companies offering machine-to-machine (M2M) technology solutions.
M2M provides communications between people, devices, and systems and turns data into information companies can act upon, also referred to as remote monitoring.
The list, compiled by M2M Magazine's editorial staff, recognises those companies that champion device enablement and connectivity, whereby everyday products and devices (eg building automation, telecommunications and medical equipment) are being placed on newer networks in order to share information, offer new types of "smart services" and conduct commerce.
The M2M 100 features 100 technology and service providers in 23 categories.
Precidia was selected for its Remote Access products, which connect serial equipment in a wide range of industries to newer, fast and more cost effective IP networks.
Precidia was selected in the "retrofitted hardware" category.
"The M2M 100 is a breakdown of the companies that define the market and its enabling technology", said Michael Jarosik, Editor of M2M Magazine.
"Our goal is to give readers the insight into which combinations of hardware, software, and middleware can help them network their assets based on different needs, applications, and industries.
Precidia is among the technology providers on the leading edge of machine-to-machine communication and has an important role in the M2M value chain".
"We're proud to be recognised as pioneers in the growing M2M industry", said Deepak Wanner, President of Precidia Technologies.
"We have made product innovation a cornerstone of our business strategy, designing new products which continue to enhance the connectivity options available for serial equipment.
From RS232 to wireless right through to our new compact RS232 to Ethernet converter, we have continued to meet the needs of our customers and partners around the world with cost effective, unique solutions", said Wanner.
