Inverters offer a choice of waveforms

A new company has been established to exclusively supply AC/DC quasi-sine and pure-sine inverters, battery chargers and other products for power conversion and renewable energy system installations.
Power Master Systems, based near Cambridge, is stocking a wide range of units from their principal Power Master Technology Co of Taiwan, which although little known in the UK has been designing and manufacturing this type of unit for more than 20 years.
The range covers continuous output powers from 100 to 3500W at 110 or 230V, with inputs for 12 or 24V batteries.
For undemanding applications where waveform purity is not required then the quasi-sine range offers high efficiency and lowest cost.
Where a pure-sinewave waveform is necessary - for instance motor variable speed controllers and sensitive equipments - then the new L series gives less than 2% THD at 93% or higher efficiency and at very competitive cost.
Applications include: on-site and vehicle-mounted power tools, measuring and diagnostics equipment, renewable energy systems, telecomms backup, general emergency power and leisure use such as boating, RVs and caravans.
Also available are a compatible range of high-efficiency switch-mode battery chargers from 2 to 50A that employ constant current and sequenced voltage control to give rapid charging to full capacity without overcharging or cell gassing.
