PESL now offers a viable solution to bent, misaligned or mangled leads, with a manually operated three-piece lead reconditioning system from Fancort.

Manufacturers and users of fine-pitch surface mount devices constantly face the challenge of reclaiming components with bent, misaligned or mangled leads For many companies, automated lead processing systems are not a viable alternative, since their cost/benefit ratio is excessively high

PESL now offers a viable solution with a manually operated three-piece lead reconditioning system from Fancort, featuring the F-1B/1RC, Dana Design MLCS-2 and inspection kit.

These easy-to-use precision bench-top machines rival even the most expensive systems for performance and accuracy and are ideally suited for fine-pitch components with lead spacing down to 0.5mm.

They simultaneously correct sweep and restore lead pitch, standoff and coplanarity to Jedec standards, and do so without requiring special tooling, for any two- or four-sided gullwing device from 7 x 7mm to 32 x 32mm, with lead pitch down to 0.5mm.

The system uses the Dana Design MLCS-2 lead reconditioner for lead spacing, sweep and minor coplanarity deviations and the F-1B/1RC universal reformer to restore gullwing shape.

Average processing time for a QFP is less than 60s.

Package changeover takes less than 5min.

For lead conditioning, combs are available in pitches of 0.025in, 0.5mm, 0.65mm and 0.8mm.

Lead reforming sets come in 0.016in shoulder with taper and 0.025in shoulder or 0.040in shoulder.
