Fingerprint board isn't fooled by phoney fingers
Parvus Corp is developing modular fingerprint identification hardware for embedded computer applications in co-operation with Fujitsu Microelectronics America (FMA).
Parvus' SpacePC CPU line of PC/104 and PC/104-Plus CPUs is characterised by its space-saving size (3.550 x 3.775in), broad support for x86 operating systems (ie Windows, VxWorks, Linux, QNX), low power consumption (4-5W typical), soldered RAM (for ruggedness), optional extended temperature operation (from -40 to +85C), and breadth of integrated peripherals.
Each evaluation kit comes with a CPU board that is preinstalled with its peripherals interfaced to a PC/104-Plus baseboard with standard PC-style connectors for PS/2, VGA, RJ-45 Ethernet, and CompactFlash.
Users need only to attach their monitor, keyboard, and mouse, then plug the provided AC/DC power adapter into a 120V outlet, and flip the power switch to begin booting up.
Kits also include the standard ribbon cable sets and related adapters (ie Ethernet, CAN, USB/audio) for each CPU board, a CompactFlash disk with operating system, web browser, and TCP/IP stack, as well as a CD-ROM disk with drivers, manuals, and technical documentation.
CPUs without onboard video also come with Parvus' 104FX video card installed.
Customers will have a period of 30 days to evaluate each CPU kit, after which, customers can either return or purchase the kits.
Supplies are limited.
