Fingerprint board isn't fooled by phoney fingers
Parvus Corp is developing modular fingerprint identification hardware for embedded computer applications in co-operation with Fujitsu Microelectronics America (FMA).
With dedicated hardware and rate control algorithms tailored to high-resolution live video encoding, the new MPEG104+ module supports up to four live camera inputs at a time and enables a lower-end system processor or up to four MPEG104+ modules to be used in a single system (supporting up to 16 cameras).
Compatible with real-time and embedded operating systems, such as Windows CE/XPe, QNX, Linux and VxWorks, the board is well suited for embedded computing applications with space constraints and harsh environmental conditions, including high vibration and temperature extremes (ie aircraft, buses, trains, vehicles etc).
The MPEG104+ features four-channel NTSC/Pal/Secam video decoders with composite video (CVBS) inputs, along with digital (ITU-R BT.656) output and analog output channels to perform real-time monitoring of the recording sequence.
The MPEG-4 module also features four-channel motion detection functionality, fully programmable or automatic static gain control for each CVBS channel, and programmable video quality control.
The MPEG104+ is currently in stock and is priced at $603 each in volume orders of 100-plus units.
