ProDesign releases chipit copper edition at the 43rd DAC

ProDesign, leading supplier of high-speed ASIC and SoC verification platforms, has announced the launch of the chipit copper edition at DAC 2006 (San Francisco, 24-28 July) The chipit copper edition aims at customers who need a flexible and very cost-effective high-speed verification solution

Like all chipit products, the new release shortens the time to market by eliminating costly respins and by providing early prototypes for software development.

chipit Copper is mainly used for pre-silicon software and firmware development, where several systems are needed to work in parallel.

The chipit copper edition is very flexible and scalable from 2 to 4 FPGAs.

Depending on the configuration, the system handles ASIC design capacities from 2 M up to 4 M ASIC gates.

It is equipped with up to 8 extension board sections with up to 2580 free user I/Os to adapt to additional standard chipit or user specific extension boards.

The board also offers up to 4 SO-DIMM card slots and optional on-board SSRAM memories.

The system can run stand-alone and can easily be configured by software with SD card or the Ethernet interface.

"With the chipit copper edition, we created a very easy to use and low priced prototyping system especially for firmware and software developers who need several prototypes as early as possible".

"ProDesign gained a lot of experience by developing six generations of ASIC prototyping systems".

"We created a solution with maximum flexibility, fast system speed and best price-performance ratio" said Heiko Mauersberger, CTO of ProDesign.
