Power electronics show set for November in Chicago
This year's Power Electronics Technology Exhibition and Conference will run from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th November at Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois.
This year's Power Electronics Technology Exhibition and Conference will run from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th November at Navy Pier, Chicago, Illinois.
Professional advancement courses will also be offered on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th November 15th.
The annual Power Electronics Technology Exhibition and Conference provides engineers (application, design, development, and manufacturing), management, R and D, and system integrators a venue where they can meet with leading manufacturers and suppliers and learn from renowned industry authorities.
The Power Electronics Technology Exhibition and Conference is colocated with The Power Quality Exhibition and Conference, which together constitute PowerSystems World - the premier event for power electronics technology and power quality professionals.
The Power Electronics Technology exhibit hall will feature aisle-after-aisle of top manufacturers and suppliers displaying the latest power electronics technology products.
Visitors can inspect, demo and price the newest hardware, software, systems, and component equipment - including battery systems, magnetic products, passive components, power protection products, power supplies, semiconductors, sensors and transducers, test instruments and measuring systems, thermal management products, and design software.
Admittance to the exhibit hall is free to delegates that preregister for the event at online ($30 at the door).
Power Electronics Technology delegates are invited to attend a free keynote address on Tuesday 16th November from 0830 to 0945 (local time), titled "Where should the 'buck' stop?", by Patrizio Vinciarelli, founder and CEO of Vicor Corp.
The intermediate bus architecture, which relies on nonisolated point-of-load (POL) "buck" convertors, suffers from fundamental limitations in confronting the challenges of powering a digital world.
The need for efficient POL power conversion - down to a fraction of a volt - with requisite density and speed, has led to new power conversion engines and a new power distribution architecture.
The keynote address will discuss how these new engines overcome the limitations of niPOLs with a more granular form of distributed power: FPA.
The Power Electronics Technology Conference features 1 hour seminars, professional advancement courses, poster sessions, and more than 60 technical paper presentations designed to help power electronics professionals enhance their knowledge and abilities and advance their career.
Course listings and descriptions will be available from the exhibition website in late July.
