More choice to photonic switch range
Polatis is broadening its product portfolio to include smaller scale optical switches.
Optical switches add reach to video signals
Optical switch specialist Polatis has released a new series of products for routing signals in the rapidly growing high definition video industry.
The new 32x32 optical switch sets another performance benchmark with the lowest loss available for a switch of this size.
It is available in both symmetric (NxN) and asymmetric (NxM) formats.
The Polatis multimode optical switch is available as a 16x16 tray and OEM module for 50um or 62.5um core fibre.
This product brings low-loss optical matrix switching to enterprise networks and other multimode applications.
Instrumentation-grade variable optical attenuation and power monitoring are now available as options across the Polatis optical switch range.
The user can set either attenuation per switch path or maximum power per output port, controlled from a graphical user interface.
This high level of functionality is integrated into a 19in rack-mounted tray, enabling simplification of test and measurement infrastructure.
Polatis also introduces a series of optical switch cards in standard 4x4, 4x8, 8x8 and reconfigurable formats.
These cards are available in 3 or 6U form factors, for use in standard PXI/VXI racks.
The simple binary control protocol can be easily adapted to accommodate customer-specific system interfaces.
Dave Lewis, Polatis CEO, said: "The strong demand for our current products, the extended market reach afforded by our recently announced distribution agreement with JDS Uniphase and this expansion of our product range provide an outstanding opportunity to accelerate the growth of Polatis".
