Preregistration recommended for Electronica 2002

This year's Electronica takes place from Tuesday 12th to Friday 15th November at the new Munich Trade Fair Centre.

Visitors to the show will be able to see the latest product offerings from the majority of the world's leading manufacturers and, for the first time, automotive electronics and embedded systems are given their own exhibition hall.

This, says the organiser, reflects the importance of these technology sectors to the future of the electronics industry.

Altogether, 2846 German and international exhibitors will be present across the 14 Halls of the show.

Also for the first time, visitors will be made to register for entry to the show and, for a show that always attracts some 80,000 plus visitors, this is bound to lengthen the queues at the beginning of each day.

To avoid delays, visitors are recommended to preregister using the facility included on the Electronica website or call the show's London office.

The website also contains a great deal of information about the show.

An exhibitor list is included, as is a programme of events including the embedded conference and the Electronica Forum which has as its topic - "Expanding horizons - a discussion on the future direction of the global semiconductor industry".

Like all major cities, Munich and its surrounding area boast a wide variety of hotels which vary in terms of facilities, comfort and, of course, price.

The Electronica website includes a travel and hotel section which advertises hotel rooms from Eur 100 to 265 per night.

Experience shows that early booking will secure a room that is at least within striking distance of the exhibition halls.
