UWB developer on Red Herring shortlist
A developer of Ultra Wideband (UWB) semiconductor products is a finalist for the Red Herring 100 Award.
Pulse~Link, a developer of Ultra Wideband (UWB) semiconductor products for home HD networking, is a finalist for the Red Herring 100 Award.
The prestigious award recognises 100 private companies based in North America that play a leading role in innovation and technology.
The Red Herring editorial board has identified the top 200 out of more than 800 closely evaluated companies that are leading the next wave of innovation.
"We can see the exciting evolution of the technology sector reflected in the quality and variety of exceptional companies that we had to choose from in putting our list together", says Joel Dreyfuss, Editor-in-Chief of Red Herring.
"It was tough to choose just 200 finalists from such a large list of excellent contenders, and we are very happy with the qualities of the companies we selected as finalists".
Pulse~Link has a product capable of true room-to-room networking of interactive High Definition content from a hybrid wired/wireless chipset.
Devices enabled with Pulse~Link's CWave UWB chipset allow HD content located anywhere in the home to be shared across the existing coax backbone with wireless connectivity in each room for set-top boxes, HDTVs, DVRs, DVD players, gaming devices, media-centre PCs, and other multimedia equipment.
CWave enables high-definition content to be streamed throughout the home and provides end-to- end quality of service, while preserving content-protection mechanisms.
"This recognition comes at an extremely important time for us", states John Santhoff, Pulse~Link co-founder and CTO.
"UWB has been a highly anticipated technology promising to truly revolutionise home networking and we are excited about the upcoming commercial release of our CWave chipset for whole-home connectivity".
"This esteemed honour from Red Herring is a great validation of Pulse~Link's industry-leading accomplishments".
