With the new SL20.310 (24-28V/20 or 25A) Puls has released the latest version of its power supply classic, first introduced to the DIN-rail market by the Munich-based company five years ago.
At only 90 mm x 125 mm x 113 mm (w x h x d), it is about 40% smaller than corresponding units of its class.
In spite of the unit's small size, it stands out from others in this power range due to its unique adjustable output characteristics, allowing the user to choose how the units operate at overload simply by switching the jumper ON or OFF.
Using PULS Overload Design, and with the jumper switched to OFF, the power supply continuously delivers more than 1.5 times the nominal current during a short circuit, ensuring that the power required to trip safety fuses is available.
Difficult loads, such as motors or DC-DC converters, can start without any problem.
In safety mode (PULS Overload Breaker Mode), with the jumper switched to ON, the unit switches off at overload after 4 seconds, and remains switched off.
Thus, the user is protected without the need for additional fuses on the secondary side.
Up to ten SL10.300 units can be connected in parallel to increase the overall output.
A further feature of the SL10.300 is that it can still operate with two phases at nominal load, even after the loss of one phase.
Consequently the user saves on the cost of expensive motor protection switches, which should otherwise normally be placed on the primary side.
The SL10.300 has all the usual features of the SilverLine family including the Wide-Range-Input (400-500 V AC nominal voltage), a wide temperature range (-10 to 70C) and approvals including the CB Scheme, UL1950, UL508 and fulfilment of the PFC Standard according to EN61000-3-2, enabling their use almost anywhere in the world.
With the SL10.300, Puls is currently the only manufacturer to offer a complete range of 3 phase, adjustable DIN rail power supply units from 120-960 W.
