48V three-phase switcher fills a gap
The SilverLine series now includes the SL10.305, a 240W, three-phase DIN rail switch mode power supply with an output voltage rating of 48-52V and an output current rating of 5A.
The SilverLine series now includes the SL10.305, a 240W, three-phase DIN rail switch mode power supply with an output voltage rating of 48-52V and an output current rating of 5A.
This gives users who need a 48V supply, access to proven quality in a 240W model, in addition to the 480W class available until now.
Moreover, this Puls device is one of the few three-phase models available in this class today.
The new SilverLine SL10.305 three-phase, 5A, 48-52V power supply made by Puls has impressive specifications, including a compact design and very long design life.
The device is extremely efficient, generating minimal heat losses and, with an efficiency of close to 94%, is at the top of its class in the DIN rail switch mode power supply category.
It meets SELV criteria (Safety Extra Low Voltage) in spite of its high output voltage.
Its wide-range input rating and a comprehensive approvals package make it suitable for worldwide application.
It meets the requirements of the EN61000-3-1 (PFC) standard.
An input voltage range of 380-480V makes it suitable for almost all three-phase supply systems around the world.
A device feature to be highlighted is its short-time input voltage rating of 300-620V (up to one minute).
This allows the device to cover a wide range of voltage dips and transient peaks and contributes significantly to service reliability.
It is even possible to operate with full output power on two phases.
Two-phase transformers can thereby be replaced, or reliable operation continued, even with the loss of one phase.
The equally wide DC input range of 450-820V (even 400-890V for up to 1min) makes the device suitable for DC link circuits or other applications that use a DC supply.
The shut-off threshold for the DC input mode is as low as 260V.
The technical innovations available in the latest SilverLine series are also included in the SL10.305: an integrated input fuse and electronic output protection that can be enabled or disabled (fuse mode) cut costs and save DIN rail space.
When the fuse mode is active, the device turns off the output precisely and permanently on overtemperature or overload.
It can only be turned on again by deliberately pressing the reset button on the device face.
The shutdown occurs with a delay of a few seconds and eliminates unnecessary service calls following minor incidents.
Until it shuts down, the device tracks the proven Puls Overload Design output characteristic; ie using power boost and an extended curve with high short-circuit current availability.
This enables even tricky loads such as capacitive loads or motors to be powered up reliably.
In continuous current mode, the device does not shut down.
Instead it delivers a relatively high continuous short-circuit current of 14A.
Several SL10.305 devices can be connected in parallel if more power is required or for redundant power supply schemes.
The user can switch the device from straight-line current regulation (single use) to a load-dependent characteristic (parallel use) by moving a jumper on the device face.
This enables equal current sharing between the devices and prevents the power supply from overheating.
An optional decoupling module MLY02 (two inputs, one output) can be added at the device outputs to provide additional decoupling.
The new DIN rail switch mode power supply SL10.305 is available effective immediately.
