Software helps spot EMI in board designs

A PWB America product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Sep 29, 2005

PWB America has new software for EMI check and resonance analysis at the design stage.

PWB America is a leader in extended services for PCB design located in the Orange County area, providing schematic capture assistance, board layout, fabrication and assembly prototyping quick turn solutions.

The company is expert in complete QA board prototyping by using design for manufacturability software and EMI check and resonance analysis software.

Now PWB has new software for EMI check and resonance analysis at the design stage.

"Our new software we are applying is to cure the tedious reiterations frustration that electrical engineers faces during prototype board test runs for EMI checking", says Sales and Marketing Manager Henry Uechi.

EMI Stream is a new software from NEC which remarkably can do a theoretical check for EMI at the prerouted and postrouted PCB design stage.

EMI Stream shows "hot spots" highlighted in red for potential "noise" areas of the board layout.

EMI Stream substantially reduces the time and costs needed for revision after the prototype is developed which enables quick time-to-market turnaround.

Uechi concludes: "Many people did not know that this was possible, but now we are ready to proclaim to be the first PCB design service bureau to provide EMI Stream board layout check for EMI and resonance analysis".
