The EMS Series of eighth-brick DC/DC convertors comprises two single-output models that deliver 3.3V at 15A and 5V at 10A from an ultrawide 18 to 60V input range.

New from Power-One, the EMS Series of eighth-brick DC/DC convertors comprises two single-output models that deliver 3.3V at 15A and 5V at 10A from an ultrawide 18 to 60V input range.

Efficiencies exceeding 90%, combined with advanced thermal management techniques, facilitate industry-leading 70C performance; only 1m/s airflow is needed for full-power operation 5V with either 24 or 48V input.

The ultrawide 18 to 60V input range facilitates operation from both 24 and 48V; eliminating the need for multiple host-system circuit-pack designs, and reducing the number of brick part numbers in inventory, in applications such as wireless basestations.

Additional features include: RoHS compliancy for all six substances, 1500V DC input-to-output isolation, basic insulation, startup into highly capacitive loads, and low conducted and radiated EMI.

Interface features include: remote on/off, remote output voltage sensing, and industry-standard output trim.

Protections include: overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and overtemperature.

Regulatory approvals include: UL60950-1-03/CAN/CSA-C22.2 No 60950-1, TUV EN60950-1 and IEC60950-1.

These cost-effective products incorporate 10.8mm heights and industry-standard 58.4 x 22.9mm footprints.

Pricing is $36 each in quantities of 1000.

Samples are usually available from stock.

Production quantities are typically available in six to eight weeks.
