Hot-swappable front-end power supply enables delivery of 5000W from a low-profile 1U-high shelf to power server, telecomms and datacomms applications.

New from Power-One, the hot-swappable FNP1000-48 AC/DC front-end power supply provides 48V DC at 21A, 88% efficiency and 16.1W/in3, enabling delivery of 5000W from a low-profile 1U-high shelf to power server, telecomms and datacomms applications.

The FNP1000-48 reports operational status via front-panel LEDs, logic signals, and an I2C interface.

The I2C interface can also be used to enable the front-end, set output voltage, and control fan speed.

Additional features include a 12V DC at 0.5A standby output, a wide 90-264V AC input range, internal ORing FETs and diodes, and an ultracompact 298.2 x 83.8 x 40.6mm package.

Protection features include: output overvoltage, output overcurrent and overtemperature.

The FNP1000-48 is designed to meet international safety standards and displays the CE mark for the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

This product is available in RoHS six-substance, and lead-solder-exemption, compliant versions.

Pricing is $400 each in quantities of 100.

Evaluation models are usually available from stock.

Production quantities are typically available in four to six weeks.
