RTOS works with secure digital development
Quadros Systems has collaborated with Jinvani Systech to offer the RTOS SD driver development kit as a tightly integrated SDIO stack with the RTXC Quadros RTOS.
Quadros Systems has collaborated with Jinvani Systech, an innovator of secure digital (SD) and SDIO protocol products, solutions and services, to offer the RTOS SD driver development kit (DDK) as a tightly integrated SDIO stack with the RTXC Quadros RTOS.
Supporting a wealth of application formats, SDIO has become the de facto standard in adding plug-and-play accessories to portable consumer devices such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, modems, GPS, digital TV tuners, cameras, voice recorders, and even scanners and fingerprint recognition systems.
With the RTOS SD DDK, RTXC developers can easily integrate these high-performance SDIO-based peripherals into their system.
The SD RTOS protocol driver architecture and tool chain includes all components needed to provide high-speed I/O with low-power consumption.
SDIO's plug-and-play capabilities combined with its multifunction support of multiple I/O and combined memory and I/O give developers exceptional flexibility in meeting memory and data transfer needs via byte, block, multiblock and stream data at speeds up to 200Mbit/s.
In addition the SD RTOS architecture provides an interface that easily scales to support future SD-based peripherals.
"RTXC is used in the world's leading portable media players, so Quadros Systems is an obvious partner for us to deliver integrated SDIO technology", noted Abhay Jain, founder and CTO of Jinvani Systech.
"Together we simplify the development of consumer devices and provide an easy path to add future functionality".
"The mobile market is highly competitive and must meet aggressive time to market demands", observed Tom Barrett, president of Quadros Systems.
"Our partnership with Jinvani Systems ensures that Quadros RTXC developers enjoy the best of both worlds - an RTOS kernel that can deliver superior real-time control and dataflow capabilities and integration with technologies needed in the end application".
"Our goal is to ease the development process by integration from hardware through peripheral".
The SD RTOS DDK is based on the latest industry SD and SDIO specifications.
SD RTOS provides SD memory and MMC multimedia card support up to 2Gbyte, 1 and 4bit SD/SDIO, large DMA support, plug and play, abort and resume features and high-speed host/card support up to 50MHz.
With a well-documented, easy-to-use API, developers are well-equipped to meet the stringent constraints of mobile electronic devices.
To provide an integrated purchase and support experience for its customers, Quadros Systems will resell the SD RTOS DDK and associated tools.
Single-project licences for SD RTOS DDK start at $5000.
