QNX Software Systems began its 25th anniversary celebrations this week at Embedded World.
Universally acclaimed for its groundbreaking contributions to the embedded systems industry, QNX Software Systems began its 25th anniversary celebrations this week at Embedded World.
Founded in March 1980 by embedded software trailblazers Dan Dodge and Gordon Bell, the company began celebrating the milestone with a special event in downtown Nuremburg.
From the beginning, QNX technology has delivered a level of reliability that far exceeds conventional operating systems, making QNX the OS vendor of choice for organisations and original equipment manufacturers such as Cisco, DaimlerChrysler, Delphi, Lockheed Martin, Panasonic and Siemens.
Today, QNX technology powers millions of mission-critical systems in more than 100 countries in telecommunications networks, factories, automobiles, healthcare facilities, security systems - wherever reliability and performance are paramount.
"When we created QNX, we set out to build software that would 'make a difference' and wound up laying the technology cornerstone for the products of thousands of other companies and for millions of embedded devices around the world", said Dan Dodge, cofounder and CEO, QNX Software Systems.
"We take immense pride in knowing that our highly reliable technology has, and will continue, to power systems that the world relies on every day - systems where failure in not an option".
