Crimp connectors meet demands of HDTV
A new range of HDTV BNC crimp connectors from Telegartner is specifically designed to satisfy the demanding requirements of high definition television.
The overmoulding process consists of three stages.
The first is a low pressure moulding that encapsulates the terminations, this is followed by an optional EMC foil screen that provides a high degree of EMC shielding and finally a high pressure over moulding using a thermoplastic elastomer compound (TPE).
TPE has properties similar to rubber but has the advantage that it can be used with thermoplastic processing techniques.
It is a recyclable material, is flame retardant to UL94V0 and has excellent resistance to chemicals, UV, ozone and adverse weather conditions and operates over a wide temperature range.
Standard connector types supplied are D-type subminiature in 9, 15 and 25 way shell sizes and RJ45 8-way screened and unscreened connectors.
Other connector types, PCBs and electronic components can be supplied on request as can waterproof connector assemblies meeting IP67.
Standard colours are black, grey and white and other colours can be supplied and easily adaptable tooling allows simple changes to accommodate cable sizes and the inclusion of logos and part numbers.
