Version 9.5 of QuickWorks development software provides enhanced support for the entire Eclipse-II family of field programmable gate arrays.

Version 9.5 of QuickWorks development software provides enhanced support for the entire Eclipse-II family of field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) In addition, the software accelerates time-to-market for customers through automatic migration from previous Eclipse designs to the new Eclipse II family

QuickWorks v9.5 also supports recent additions to the QuickMIPS ESP family - the QL 902M, QL903M and QL904M devices.

QuickWorks v9.5 offers a comprehensive design environment for the Eclipse II family of FPGAs ranging from schematic and HDL-based design entry, HDL language editors and tutorials, logic synthesis, place and route, timing analysis, and simulation support.

QuickWorks v9.5 also converts designs from the Eclipse family devices to their equivalent Eclipse-II counterparts, maintaining the same placement and routing.

"Finally, designers of battery operated and power critical systems have an ultra-low-power FPGA alternative to the high development cost of ASICs, and the feature-poor architecture of CPLDs", said Tim Saxe, VP of Engineering for Quicklogic.

"QuickWorks v9.5 provides full support for this family including the new migration function that handles most of the mechanical, time consuming chores of moving from one technology to another".

The basic QuickWorks v9.5 tool is available for no charge for Windows (98, 2000, Me, XP and NT) and Unix platforms.

The software can be downloaded from the QuickLogic website.
