Logic platforms add high-speed UART options
Offers a power-efficient single-chip solution to expand the interfacing capability of a mobile application processor, for example to support high-datarate Bluetooth.
Programmable platform shrinks to chip scale
ArcticLink reduces design time and risk for mobile product developers by embedding hard-wired host controllers with a programmable fabric - all in a single low-power device.
The board also includes QuickLogic's QL901M device that acts as the system management processor.
The board is designed as a PCI form factor, to allow simple development in a PC or workstation environment.
This combination of technologies is appropriate for a number of end applications including: network infrastructure equipment; high performance digital consumer applications; software defined radio; and industrial and medical imaging.
"The demonstration of a working platform that leverages technology from our respective companies is an important milestone, following the formation of the business relationship between the two companies late last year", said Ron Mabry, Vice President, Pact XPP Technologies.
"The need to efficiently process combinations of data, audio and increasing video information in various areas of the network demands a solution that contains powerful control plane and data plane attributes", said Ian Ferguson, Vice President and General Manager, QuickMIPS Division.
"The combination of the QuickMIPS devices' fixed functionality and the reconfigurable nature of the XPP array provides tremendous system performance and flexibility in tracking changes to protocols in end markets".
The XPP-SDP system development platform is available directly from Pact and is priced at $25,000.00 bundled with the XPP-XDS XPP development suite.
