Offers a power-efficient single-chip solution to expand the interfacing capability of a mobile application processor, for example to support high-datarate Bluetooth.
Programmable platform shrinks to chip scale
ArcticLink reduces design time and risk for mobile product developers by embedding hard-wired host controllers with a programmable fabric - all in a single low-power device.
The HiLo socketing system can reduce development costs by allowing the same printed circuit board (PCB) to be used for prototyping and production, cutting down on system development time.
When every millimetre counts, the 2mm socket height enables low-profile prototypes because the board height - a critical constraint for handheld applications - remains at chip level.
When mounting QuickLogic FPGAs using the HiLo system, the chip is attached to a pin field and a socket is soldered to the PCB.
The pin field is then inserted into the socket.
The pin field and socket combination accommodates multiple applications, including production IC board mounting, board-to-board connection and other creative uses.
The HiLo socket requires less insertion force per contact, supports high-speed applications, and is suitable for pick-and-place assembly automation.
"The success of consumer electronics products depends greatly on the adoption of new technology, and the rate at which products are delivered to market", said Owen Bateman, Sales Director of QuickLogic Europe.
"In providing the HiLo socket system to developers of consumer applications, we help cut costs and speed time to market by allowing them to develop their system with the same PCB as they intend to use for production, eliminating the need for respins late in the design cycle".
HiLo sockets are available from Interconnect Systems starting from $93.00.
