Mediaflo USA , a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm, has signed a definitive agreement to deliver mobile entertainment and information services to subscribers to Cingular, the new wireless unit of ATandT.

The two companies expect to make the service available to customers in late 2007.

Mediaflo USA aggregates popular content from some of the world's best-known brands and optimises it for the mobile environment.

ATandT will launch mobile TV services from Mediaflo USA on phones specifically designed for the purpose with an intuitive user interface.

Additionally, ATandT will have access to advanced features Mediaflo USA expects to launch in the second half of 2007.

These features include Mediaflo USA's multicast video-clip distribution service; a datacasting application for real-time information and entertainment; and audio services.

The Mediaflo USA service complements ATandT's existing voice, data and video-on-demand services.

"Our relationship with ATandT will redefine expectations of mobile media for millions of wireless subscribers", says Gina Lombardi, president of Mediaflo USA.

"Mediaflo USA's service will add another dimension to our offering by delivering a TV-quality mobile media experience that perfectly complements our existing voice and multimedia services", says Marc Lefar, chief marketing officer for ATandT's wireless unit.

"We look forward to bringing our subscribers a compelling, differentiated service and the innovative devices for which ATandT is known".
