Quantum CAD has become a member of the SMART (Surface Mount And Related Technologies) Group.

Quantum CAD signed up during its extremely successful appearance at the Electronica 2006 Expo in Munich earlier in the month.

Steve Jones, MD of Quantum CAD commented: "We are delighted to be associated with the SMART Group and look forward to being able to put back something into an industry that has allowed us such growth as a company".

Tony Gordon, Company Secretary of the SMART Group responded "We are delighted to welcome a new Welsh member and we are sure that this will help the group to attract new members in Wales".

"This in turn can only be beneficial for other Welsh companies involved in the electronics manufacturing sector".

The main aims of the SMART Group are to promote the advancement of the electronics manufacturing industry through education, training and a community of likeminded electronics manufacturing professionals.

Members are actively encouraged to interact through meetings, seminars, conferences and the publication and sharing of technical information.
