Toolset accelerates 3G development
RadioScape has announced the worldwide availability of the RadioLab 3G 2.0 system-level design toolset.
RadioScape has announced the worldwide availability of the RadioLab 3G 2.0 system-level design toolset.
Designed for 3G UMTS/W-CDMA wireless solutions, RadioLab 3G 2.0 enables developers to validate ideas and designs before committing to silicon and software, achieving faster development times with fewer errors.
RadioLab 3G 2.0 consists of functional blocks that can be linked to simulate complex models of real-world 3G communications systems in four efficient steps: build, develop, validate and migrate.
In addition to supporting floating-point calculations, RadioLab 3G 2.0 now supports full fixed-point, bit-true simulations.
This lets developers model and match 3G systems to the particular rules and performance capabilities of their targeted devices, such as basestations or handset products.
With RadioLab 3G 2.0, developers can compare the results of reference systems using both methods, an advancement competing toolsets do not offer.
Built on The MathWorks MATLABTM and SimulinkTM software, two of the most widely used system-level design and modeling environments, RadioLab 3G 2.0 also solves the issues associated with code simulation by creating a standard graphical user interface, graphical outputs and file output requirements.
In addition, developers can rapidly generate and conformance-test real, working algorithms, reducing development time and expenses.
The RadioLab 3G 2.0 software models the key functions of a UMTS basestation providing unmatched flexibility for both UTRAN and user equipment designs.
With more reference systems than any other product, the RadioLab 3G 2.0 UMTS modelling toolset includes a comprehensive library of models and simulations including: turbo and Viterbi coding; transport and physical channels; and multipath radio channel simulation, all in easy-to-use forms.
RadioLab 3G 2.0 pricing remains the same, and existing customers who have purchased RadioLab 3G 1.0 will receive an upgrade at no extra charge.
The product will ship Q4 2001 and is available directly through RadioScape in the UK and the USA.
In Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Scandinavia, Israel and India, RadioLab 3G 2.0 is available through reseller partners.
