Radiall has developed a new solution for hermetically sealed fibre-optic applications.

Radiall has developed a new solution for hermetically sealed fibre-optic applications The hermetically sealed pigtail is based on precise glass sealing technology offering to the end user an improved reliability and a cost-effective solution

The use of a Kovar ferrule allows easy hermetic soldering or welding on the end package.

Applications include active and passive devices, feed-through for MOEMs, VCSELs and other components, and any fibre-optic application requiring hermetic sealing.

Designed for use with both bare (125um) and coated (250um) fibres, the hermetically sealed pigtail is a viable alternative to other hermetic solutions such as metallised fibres.
