High-density connector tolerates misalignment
Radiall's SMP connectors were developed to help designers reduce the size and increase the density of MIC (microwave integrated circuit) packaging.
Radiall's SMP connectors were developed to help designers reduce the size and increase the density of MIC (microwave integrated circuit) packaging.
SMP connectors are high performance, up to 40GHz, for 50ohm RF and microwave applications with excellent vibration and shock performances.
SMP come in snap-on or slide-on, blind-mate interconnection system allowing axial (0, +0.25mm) and radial (+/-0.25mm) misalignment, compliant with MIL-STD-348A and MIL-PRF-39012, DESC 94007/94008 standards.
The internal diameter of the male interface provides three different retention forces (full detent, limited detent, smooth bore) with corresponding (100, 500, 1000) mating cycles.
Centre to centre distance between two connectors is 4.8mm for board to cable application and 8.3mm for board to board.
The connectors are designed for military applications - phased arrays, active antennas, satellites, airborne, ship borne, ground radar - as well as telecommunications applications.
The SMP range offers: straight and right-angle connectors for semi-rigid and foam cables, straight and right angle receptacles for SMT, and snap-in jacks and adapters.
Radiall also offers multiway connectors with SMP interfaces, optimising the positioning of connectors to increase density and misalignment tolerances.
