Connectors bring power to aircraft
galleys
Radiall has developed a new EPXB connector for galleys and galley inserts according to ARINC 810.
Radiall has developed a new EPXB connector for galleys and galley inserts according to ARINC 810 The connector will be installed in the galleys of the two most recent commercial aircraft, the A380 and the B787
Today's solutions have several shortcomings driving up the industry costs: limited ability to upgrade and retrofit in-flight meal service components; and no interchangeability between different galleys.
Now ARINC has standardised the galley and its connector based on the EPX concept.
The new EPXB connector is based on a rack and panel concept, with a standard slimline connector with an alignment pin for use on all the galley inserts (coffee maker, oven, etc).
It is a spring-loaded float mount connector with self-alignment built in and a lightweight composite strain relief backshell.
