Long life for scalable ATX platform
The Endura SH845GV long life Intel 845GV ATX board is the latest in the popular Endura family of long-life CPU platforms.
The Endura SH845GV long life Intel 845GV ATX board is the latest in the popular Endura family of long-life CPU platforms.
The SH845GV supports both Intel Pentium 4 and Intel Celeron processors and is designed to address applications such as video surveillance, medical imaging, gaming and industrial control systems, which use a larger number of PCI peripheral cards.
With the addition of the Endura SH845GV, Radisys has the most comprehensive family of long life, embedded ATX CPU platforms in the industry.
The RadiSys SH845GV ATX provides a scalable platform enabling OEMs to select the processor best suited to meet their price/performance requirements.
For instance, Intel's 2.4 and 2.8GHz Pentium 4 processors can be used for high performance embedded applications with the 2GHz Celeron processor being used as an entry-level, cost-effective solution.
This flexibility combined with the five year lifetime provides OEMs with an embedded platform designed for a lower total cost of ownership.
"OEMs continue to look for embedded platforms that deliver leading edge technology, can be used in many applications and don't cost a fortune to own over the life of the product", said Fred Yentz, Vice President for Radisys.
"We provide exceptional engineering support and revision control all of which equate to a lower cost of ownership.
Radisys has a reputation of supplying platforms that not only allow our customers to develop better products faster, but also have a lifetime that far exceeds similar commercial products".
The SH845GV was designed to meet the needs of OEMs who are looking for long life solutions that can be used in a variety of embedded applications.
RadiSys carefully chose the ideal components and architecture, ensuring OEMs a flexible, cost effective platform that can be leveraged in more than one implementation.
Expanding the number of PCI slots enables OEMs to pack more video I/O cards in a video surveillance application and to attach all the interface cards required for coin-op gaming machines.
The AGP digital display slot enables use of an ADD card to interface to digital display panels typically used in medical and gaming applications.
This unique pairing of components and architecture also minimizes the component "churn" that has become common in the standard desktop ATX boards.
The SH845GV is an industry standard 12 x 9.6in ATX form factor board and supports Intel's Pentium 4 and Celeron processors at bus speeds of 400 or 533MHz.
The SH845GV has support for large memory with up to 2Gbyte of DDR SDRAM.
In addition to the integrated Intel Extreme Graphics, other integrated features include a 10/100 Ethernet port and AC97 digital audio.
Expansion is provided by six 32bit/33MHz PCI slots and a CompactFlash socket for onboard storage.
Integrated I/O includes six USB 2.0 ports, two serial ports, one parallel port and PS/2 ports for keyboard and mouse.
The Endura SH845GV is currently sampling with customers and production quantities will be available in May 2004.
The SH845GV has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $270 from which discounts are available for OEM quantities.
