MSDSL modem extends the local loop
RAD Data Communications has introduced the ASMi-51 MSDSL modem, which offers variable datarates and extended distances in the local loop.
"The primary purpose of the new office is to pursue further development of large telecommunications projects that were discussed during the recent meetings between RAD and the Czech authorities", explains Jacob Fass, Director of Corporate Development Projects at RAD Data Communications.
"RAD has identified excellent opportunities for cooperation with Czech telecom operators in various areas, including Internet for schools, government information systems, extending services to small business customers and expansion of the communications infrastructure", he adds.
The Czech government expects RAD to direct a "hi-tech park" in the Czech Republic.
The proposed complex is to encompass system integration, research and development, manufacturing, logistics and other activities.
The size of the investment made by RAD in the Czech Republic will be commensurate with the size of the projects the company undertakes in the country.
"The Czech authorities and RAD have agreed on a back-to-back approach in defining the size of RAD's involvement in the Czech communications industry", Fass states.
"It's conceivable that in the near future RAD will also undertake the establishment of value-added technology projects in the country".
According to Fass, both Slovak and Romanian development authorities have expressed similar interest in RAD opening project development centres in their respective countries.
"RAD brings a multi-disciplinary approach to technology and project development", says Fass.
"The company's products meet the immediate and long-term infrastructure requirements of the region, and its readiness to share technology development with potential partners in these countries meets the region's future needs for creating a value-added hi-tech industrial platform".
